Emerald?

edited
shirt & necklace: Old Navy, sweater & shoes (I think?): Target, pants: thrifted

Are these pants emerald? They're probably considered more of a teal, but I just had to join in on Heidi and Marissa's link up for their Pantone-inspired spring color challenge! Even more fitting, the pants are thrifted Target stock, something Heidi has an absolute knack for hunting down. :)

So I have to admit, I feel like my style has tamed down (aka gotten a little more boring) since I started my new job. I think I've been much less willing to pair unexpected colors together, and have been choosing instead to add only something black, white, or gray when wearing a piece of clothing that's a bold color. Adding the navy blue sweater was my attempt to slowly bring myself out of that rut. Anyone have some suggestions for other colors to pair with these pants?!

Linking up...

  1. This is a great outfit! I really like the color combination. I was worried that my emerald wasn't really an "emerald," but I think it works anyway! Thanks so much for linking up with us today!

  2. i'd say these pants are definitely emerald, so i'm glad you participated in our link up! and i got a little excited for you knowing they're thrifted target stock. :) i think blues/navys are always a safe bet to pair with green, but i've also worn magenta with green and liked the effect! i have had a lot of trouble getting dressed lately too, so i know the feeling. i hope you bounce back!

  3. I really like the navy with these pants, which I think totally count as emerald! I bet cobalt blue would look really good with the green pants, too. Or leopard print!

    1. Leopard print - I love it! Is it bad if I think that should count as a neutral? :) I have a cobalt top too so I'll have to try pairing that with the pants. Thanks for the ideas!

  4. I was thinkg Cobalt or Electric Blue too. Also try a Wheat or Camel color, even a Chocolate Brown or Top. Magenta and darker Purples like Plum would work too. Would you be able to join my Birthday Blog Post this Sunday & style an outfit of your choice?

    1. I do have a darker purple tee, so I'll have to keep that in mind! And a wheat or camel color would definitely work. Yes I'll be joining in on your birthday post and will send you the info at the end of the week!

  5. They definitely look emerald to me! I agree with those who have said maybe a magenta type color would work nicely with these pants. I like them!

  6. I wasn't too sure about how "emerald" my outfit yesterday was either, but those pants look pretty spot on to me! What a great thrift find! The navy is a great pairing - I think other colors that would work well would be dark purple or maybe a lighter shade of green.

    1. Thanks Inge! Prints is a good idea...I feel like my warm weather shirt options are really limited, so some with a print may have to go on my list of items to find.
