Quality Time

sweater & jeans: Target, scarf: World Market, tee: H&M, Minnetonka moccasins: gift

After enjoying a few days back home with our families, I'm thankful for some extra time back at our own home to relax and try to get some things done around here. Today's big chore was to clean our bedroom. I've always been notorious for leaving piles of clothes around so it's likely that today was the first day since we moved in that everything was in its place. And it only took 4 1/2 hours to accomplish...I should probably be ashamed of myself for that!

Thankfully I got an early start today, so there was plenty of time to still have some fun too. A trip to another side of town to exchange a Christmas present led to a last minute decision to stop at a nearby old favorite bar of ours for a drink. Then a grocery store errand on the way home to get some supplies for the dinner we had planned to cook turned into a detour for dinner at a local restaurant when we figured out they had a beer on draft tonight that my husband had been trying to track down. Times like that are truly my favorite. No agenda, no stress, just the two of us!

  1. Oooh, I love the color of that scarf! It looks like the shade of pink that serves both as a pop of color AND as a soft neutral - love it!

  2. i recognized that scarf right away -- i bought it for myself, along with a minty green one, at world market too! i love their scarves! i'm glad you had a nice holiday and have had both a relaxing and productive time at home -- i got back home today from a week long trip to my parents, and it actually felt good to put everything in my suitcase away right away and try to tackle some piles in my bedroom. i need to master a mostly clutter-free life. :)

    1. Thanks Inge! I've decided that if that's the only major project that gets tackled over break that I'm ok with that. :)

    1. I'm glad I'm not the only one who takes that long! Each time I go to throw a piece of clothing onto the floor, I need to remember how annoying that 4.5 hours was! haha

    1. Just enjoy them! It's been such a relief to take a step back and remove that stress. I feel so much more creative and inspired than I have in months! Here's hoping we can keep that stress free feeling going even after we go back to the real world. :)
