Last week I got to attend our regions' annual National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) conference in Kalamazoo, Michigan. This outfit was perfect for staying comfortable on the 4.5 hour drive to get there while still looking somewhat pulled together (I have leggings on underneath...shh!). I learned a few good things at the conference that I can take back to work with me, and managed to have a great time too! Bell's Brewery started in Kalamazoo, and one of the conference events included a small tour of the original brewery. It was a pretty fun 2 days, but I was happy to get home and enjoy the rest of the weekend!

I love this outfit!! So comfy casual, but totally put together. I really like Bell's, it's so cool that you got to do a tour!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I definitely have to admit that I was nervous about what was appropriate to wear, so it was a good option for staying comfortable while still looking a little bit pulled together. :)
DeleteVery cute! I wish I looked this chic in a maxi! Love the belt too!

Thanks Ginny! That $1 skirt may be my best thrifting investment ever. :)
DeleteVery nice outfit - I love your scarf and maxi skirt! I'm so planning a trip to Kalamazoo sometime like I said on Instagram, I'm not kidding!
ReplyDeleteDo it and let me know about it!! :) I will say that the brewery tour was pretty cool, but nothing exceptional since they only brew experimental beers at that original location now - they've gotten way too big to fully operate right there! Seemed like a pretty cool city though, and anytime there's good company and good drinks, you know it'll be a good time. :)
DeleteLooks like a fun trip! Your outfit is adorable.

Thanks Terri! It was a really fun trip, and thankfully the conference was worth attending too. :)
DeleteKalamazoo!!!! I used to live there!! I miss Bell's, but I'm spoiled enough to have parents and in-laws bring cases of Oberon when they come to visit me. I don't know what I'd do without my Oberon. (And I wore leggings under my maxi skirt on a flight once. Best idea ever.)
ReplyDeleteIt seemed like such a great city! Not that I made it much further than 3 blocks away from the hotel, but I liked it! :) I can't believe I hadn't had an Oberon until that trip...I was missing out for sure. Although I couldn't resist getting a Hop Slam which is likely why the aleve and gatorade was necessary the next morning. :)
