That Gremlin Voice

sweater: Old Navy, pants: New York & Co., shoes: Target

The gremlin voice (term stolen from our Director of Professional Development - ha!). It's the voice in your own head that creeps in and tells you that you're not good enough, that let's you accept defeat before you've even given it a try. I think we all have it, if not, kudos to you and please teach me your ways! :) I'm battling mine this week, trying to remember that we all have specific talents and experiences that have shaped the work that we do, and to not sell myself short when it comes to those skills I've managed to gain over the years. How have you been able to silence that voice?!

  1. Great outfit! I like neutrals mixed together like this...I might have to try it tomorrow! I definitely understand where you are coming from. It is so easy to compare ourselves with others - I think you are on the right track - we all have unique talents and experiences that make us good at whatever our jobs are!

    1. Thanks Carly! Definitely is a tough week. Pairing a fun shoe with some neutrals was probably about all I could mentally handle putting together. :)

  2. I get that gremlin every now and then too! It's hard to silence it sometimes - but you just have to keep focusing on the good things in your world - look back on the things you have accomplished and smile!

I LOVE your shoes. End of story. I want them.

    1. Thanks Beth! I need to remember that bottom line is that I'm incredibly happy to be where I am professionally, but to never pass up an opportunity to grow even more!

P.S. I think these shoes are quickly becoming my all time favorite. :)
