Summer to Fall

DSC01820
dress: Target, shoes & cardigan: Old Navy, belt: Forever 21, necklace: Charming Charlie

This dress was my birthday present to myself and part of my July budget. Although it hasn't made an appearance on the blog outside of July's budget post, it's gotten a fair amount of use the past few months. It's casual enough for weekends and the sleeves make it an easy option for work on those hot summer days. My favorite thing about this dress is how comfortable it is, but isn't that everyone's favorite thing about a maxi dress? This time I went for some dressier flats, a cardigan, and switched out the belt that came with the dress for a dressier one. I've been seeing a lot of great posts about transitioning summer pieces into fall and I have to say it inspired me to create this look. I'm thankful for the cooler temperatures and am excited to bring back the layering!

  1. I feel like a black maxi dress is one of those pieces you really can wear year-round. I've seen lots of pins lately of ways to style it for winter looks. I've almost considered getting one myself, but am hoping I can recreate looks using black tops and black maxi skirt. You really hit the nail on the head with this transitional look!

  2. You look great! I love having basic pieces that can transition through seasons with just a few changes or additions.

  7. I love how you styled this. Once again an Outfit I can re-create since I have a Black Maxi & I have that same Cardigan. I love your new Old Navy Flats too. I want the same ones but in the Burgundy color. =)

Stop by when you can to see what I am wearing lately. Have a Great Weekend, Ada. =)
